Concrete actions
Gravelanza stands out through its strong commitment to being much more than just a race, placing the core ambition of a reduced ecological footprint at the heart of its concept. From aid stations and medals to waste management and accessibility, Gravelanza is dedicated to providing participants with a responsible racing experience.
Water Supply via the City Network
Goodbye, plastic bottles! To supply our aid stations with water, we use zero single-use plastic. The local public water network allows us to provide all participants with fresh, local water.
Focusing on Fresh, Local, and Seasonal Products
For our food stations, we prioritize fresh and seasonal products sourced from local producers. Any leftover food will be donated to local charities.
An Action Plan for Waste Sorting and Treatment
To ensure that racing doesn’t go hand in hand with waste, we are developing an action plan for the reduction, sorting, and treatment of all our waste.
Prioritizing Sustainable and Collective Mobility
Because every kilometer counts even before the start, we strongly encourage participants to use public transport (trains, buses) and active travel (cycling, walking) to reach the event.
Solid French Wood to Reward Our Finishers
Did you know? Producing a wooden medal emits 29 times less CO2 than a metal one.
To remain as environmentally friendly as possible, we have said goodbye to traditional metal medals and offer all finishers a medal made from solid wood sourced from sustainably managed forests. Our medals are, of course, 100% made in France.
An Accessible and Inclusive Event
Our village is accessible by foot or by wheelchair.
